Over the course of the month the team completed three full mission deployments and four day visits, reaching hundreds of patients who would otherwise have little or no access to medical care. Each mission week saw around 500 patients treated, with services ranging from general consultations to diagnostic imaging and emergency referrals.
Expanding Reach
One of February’s most significant missions took the team to Bembary, a newly added location in the 2026 programme.
This remote village had never previously been reached by the MMC, and the response from the community was immediate. Hundreds of people gathered as the clinic opened, many having walked long distances to receive care.
From the first morning, the mobile clinic was fully operational — consultation areas prepared, electricity running, and patients already waiting.

During February’s missions the team provided:
- General medical consultations
- Ultrasound scans for diagnosis and antenatal care
- Respiratory treatments for infants and young children
- Emergency oxygen support and hospital referrals
Portable ultrasound equipment allowed doctors to investigate complex conditions and support expectant mothers with prenatal care — services that would normally require a hospital visit many hours away.
Supporting Families in Crisis
In several cases, the team encountered infants suffering from bronchiolitis, a serious respiratory infection.
These children were stabilised by the team with oxygen treatment before being transported to Ambovo Hospital for further care. Ensuring patients reach the treatment they need — even beyond the mobile clinic — is a critical part of the programme.
For many families, this intervention can be life-saving.
Alongside medical care, each mission also includes time for community outreach and encouragement, led by the MMC evangelisation team.
Large gatherings often form around the clinic site, creating a space for teaching, prayer and support alongside the medical programme — reflecting the team’s belief in caring for the whole person: body, mind and spirit.
Through the dedication of the Malagasy medical team and the support of HoverAid partners and donors, the Mobile Medical Clinic programme continues reaching communities that would otherwise remain beyond the reach of healthcare.
