Hovercraft Demo Day at Bewl Water – A Huge Success!

Hovercraft Demo Day at Bewl Water – A Huge Success!

On the 25th of January, we had the privilege of hosting a fantastic Hovercraft Demo Day at Bewl Water. It was an incredible event, bringing together a wonderful mix of HoverAid supporters, friends, and even those who played a direct role in building the hovercraft itself. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as we watched the hovercraft glide effortlessly across the water, demonstrating its capabilities and the vital role it will soon play in Madagascar.

A little bonus on the day was that a few lucky people had the opportunity to be taken out on test rides, experiencing the hovercraft from the passenger seats as it skimmed across the water. It was a thrilling way to showcase the craft’s performance up close!

We also had lots of families and children who happened to be passing by stop to take a closer look at the hovercraft once it was parked up on the beach. It was fantastic to see so many curious and excited faces, sparking interest in the incredible work HoverAid does.

We want to extend a huge thank you to Bewl Water for their ongoing support, not only for hosting this special event but also for allowing us to carry out essential testing there over the past few months. Their generosity has played a key role in ensuring the hovercraft is ready for the challenges ahead.

With testing now complete, the hovercraft will soon be shipped to Madagascar, where it will embark on its life-changing mission. Once deployed, it will help reach some of the most isolated communities, delivering medical aid, emergency relief, and essential supplies to those who need them most. In a country where rivers often serve as the only viable transport routes, this hovercraft will be a game-changer—saving lives and making a real difference.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended the demo day and to all who have supported HoverAid throughout this journey. We can’t wait to see the hovercraft in action, transforming lives in Madagascar!
