One of this year’s biggest achievements has been seeing FAITH, our newest hovercraft, becoming operational in the field.
FAITH supported her first Satellite Medical Safari to the remote riverside community of Volambita, proving her ability to reach villages that are inaccessible by road for much of the year. This marks an exciting new chapter in our mission to reach even more isolated communities with essential healthcare.
So far this year, HoverAid has completed five Medical Safari missions, delivering 3,091 consultations and procedures to people who would otherwise struggle to access medical treatment.
Alongside these specialist missions, our ongoing Mobile Medical Clinics continue to provide regular healthcare across remote regions, ensuring communities receive consistent support throughout the year.
Every consultation, operation and diagnosis helps reduce preventable illness while giving families access to healthcare they may never otherwise receive.
Our Community Health Programme has continued to expand in 2026, bringing clean water, improved sanitation and hygiene education to more villages across southwest Madagascar.
Already we’re seeing the impact. In Soatana, where new clean water infrastructure was recently completed, local health workers have reported a dramatic reduction in water-related illness.
A powerful reminder that prevention is just as important as treatment.
April also saw a group of HoverAid supporters travel to Madagascar, experiencing our work first-hand.
By meeting local communities, travelling alongside our teams and witnessing healthcare delivery in some of the country’s most remote locations, they gained a deeper understanding of both the challenges people face and the incredible resilience of the communities we serve. Their visit also provided valuable encouragement to our Malagasy team working on the ground every day.
We were delighted to welcome the new Netherlands Board, strengthening HoverAid’s international leadership and helping build the partnerships and support needed to sustain and expand our work into the future.
