Celebrating Kate’s 60th Birthday Half Marathon Success

Share the Post:
We are delighted to celebrate Kate Townsend, one of our incredible supporters, who marked her 60th birthday in the most inspiring way — by completing the Milton Keynes Half Marathon in support of HoverAid! 🏃‍♀️💛

Not only did Kate achieve this remarkable personal milestone, but she has also surpassed her fundraising target, raising an amazing £1,014 (and counting!) to help HoverAid continue bringing medical aid to hard-to-reach places in Madagascar.

Kate shared with us before the event:

“I am a GP and love the way that HoverAid is bringing medical aid to hard-to-reach places. It’s my 60th birthday on Saturday and I am hoping to complete a 1/2 marathon for HoverAid. I wanted to do something memorable on my birthday … and raising a few pennies for this charity will make the pain more worthwhile.”

Well Kate, you certainly made your birthday one to remember — and your efforts will have a lasting impact far beyond the finish line. On behalf of everyone at HoverAid, we want to say a huge thank you and congratulations. Your determination, generosity, and heart are an inspiration to us all.

💛 Happy Birthday Kate, and thank you for choosing to celebrate in such a meaningful way.
